Triptych Panel II – Abstract Landscape

Rest from Flight by Bella St John

“Serenity’s Rest”

Panel II of the Serenity Triptych ~ Original Oil Pastel by Ms Bella St John.

In “Serenity’s Rest,” the movement of water slows into a gentle drift, mirroring the calming hush of a forest soaked in late-afternoon light. Dappled reflections shimmer across the surface while golden tones glow between the trees. It is a moment of pause within the journey – a still point in nature’s unfolding rhythm.

The composition draws the eye toward the center, where the softened light suggests both sanctuary and stillness. Rich in contrast yet delicately blended, this panel marks a turning inward. The vibrant motion of the previous piece settles into reflection, and with it, a deeper breath.

This second panel is the heart of the triptych, offering a quiet moment of renewal. “Serenity’s Rest” invites you to slow your gaze, listen to the silence, and find ease in the in-between.
